I started work as an apprentice at the UKAEA Risley in 1965 and there was a lad name Jim Summers who also became an apprentice at the same time. Now Jim lived in Poolstock and as he would be around 63 or 64 years old now he may well be on this class photo. Jim left Risley once he had qualified to go as an electrican at Heinz in Kitt Green I think. Whilst organising a reunion of the twenty or so lads in our year I found out Jim had died in the early 1980s. There is a photo of Jim and me along with the other apprentices on wiganworld under "work" category "United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Risley". If Jim is on this class photo I would love to know.

The Headmaster shown here is Mr. T.Horrocks. He lived in Poolstock Lane Worsley Mesnes, next to St. Judes Club.
I went to Poolstock School and left in 1952.
Mr. Hedley was head of St. Thomas' Wigan and became the head of the new St. James in Tyrer Ave. Worsley Mesnes around 1974. The new school was opened by the Bishop of Liverpool David Sheppard. He played cricket for England at Test level.
