How sad to hear that; I think old schools have so much more character than modern ones. I went to Ince Central but our percussion band looked just like the one in this lovely photo...we were taught to sing "Ye banks and braes", "I'll go no more a-rovin'" and "Go and tell Aunt Nancy the old grey goose is dead", which used to have me in floods of tears!
