The guy at the left side of the photo is Bert Leech from Leyland Green Rd. Can't put names to anyone else. Don't even remember if our Roy was in the BB then, though someone looks like him toward the back..
It looks like Arthur Winstanley extreme right and definitely Bert Leach at front left.
The lad, playing the drum, at the back of Bert Leach is Paul Robinson from Garswood and the chap on the right is Arthur Winstanley from Cedar Grove; I think he was Captain. I don't know why I can't recognise anybody else because I was in there somewhere, must be old age!
Far right looks like Arthur Winstanley
My brothers Brent & Kevin would have been in there then I think, but finding it hard to spot them. Great Photo!
Yes, my Dad, Arthur Winstanley is on the right. He was in Bryn Boys Brigade for many years, first as a boy and then later as an officer. I think he missed it so much that he decided to start the one at Downall Green.
The boys were having such a great time, that I took the Smith girls along with me to persuade Nurse Stokes to start the Girls Guildry. She was reluctant at first, as she had no experience of the organisation, but eventually she agreed and the rest is history.
The second drummer behind the Mace Bearer, I'm almost sure , is Ken Yates from Poplar Ave. Perhaps Dougie can comfirm.
Arthur Winstanley is the officer on the right and the boy called Leech on the left. On these occasions we had the help of Bryn Boys brigade and the mace bearer I believe is theirs. I can remember our mace at downall Green and it had a different shaped head. This I'm nearly sure is the Bryn mace. The mace bearer was brilliant to watch but I can't bring his name to mind.
I believe The Mace Bearer Is Gordon Cunliffe From Bryn Boys Brigade
