| The only person that I know for certain is Donald Atherton who is in the wheelchair,he ran the Lifeboys who are in the photo and the Boys Brigade. |

| That picture house in the right foreground brings back a lot of memories, is that not the Rex, I had my first date in there in 1954, I was 15, I remember her first name was Maureen and she lived in the street facing the cinema, it was a good day except her friend insisted on staying with her, that was end of romance, you live and learn !!?? |

| It is the Rex aitch,showing it before Berts Bar was built.The building at the back,next to the brook was a betting shop later on. |

The building at the back was Gladstone Meadows Florist.
Used to get flowers regularly to take to the Cemetry--Grand parents graves. |

| Yes definitely the Rex .My dad worked as a labourer in the building of the Rex in the late 30's |
