Mr. Walker, Choirmaster and Organist, leading out the choir of St. James' Church, Poolstock. Date 1951.
The building to the left is now Russ's Barbers Shop, and the building in the background is what was Worsley Mesnes Foundry (Mellings).

Ithink this is my cousin Roy Leather and my Dad worked at Mellings as a fitter. I also remember Jim Latham and his family who had a Butchers Shop.

Barbara, sorry to disappoint, but its not Roy, but me. The photo is taken from in front of our house (or should I say shop). We lived behind the shop in the 40's, 50's and 60's.

I think you may right Jim, sorry, thought it was our Roy as he was also in the choir. Remember you very well as we always bought meat from your Dad! Did you have a little sister?
