Photo taken from outside my grandmother's shop, Mason's Stores, 215A Ormskirk Road. Note Taylor's Newsagents in the background. My sister Pamela Bailey (nee Mason) is front left.

Another great photo Michael, the shop was later Clarksons (corner of Manor Street & Mitchell Street)

I seem to recognised the building in the background. Is it/was it the pub that divided Ormskirk Road & Warrington Rd after the Seven Stars Bridge ? My Bradshaw grandparents lived somewhere just along Warrington road in a terraced house. Victoria St ??

The paper shop was still there in the 1990s, an old painted sign saying "Read The Empire News" was still visible on the wall.

The shop in the photo is now a house, the current owners moved to their paper shop business across the road to union bridge shops.
