A view looking down E3 brow.By this time E3 was no longer used as a supply route and only served as a second means of egress. In it's day vitually everything supplying the Winwick area went down here and men would travel to all the Lower Florida faces in No3 South via this route.
PS:For the interest of anybody keen to learn more about the history of Parkside as of 18/3/2009 4 copies of the book,Parkside Colliery
by Geoff Simm are listed on ebay for 5 days the item number is 260379428418 i have a couple of copies myself and it is a fantastic book.

when I started back at Parkside in 1975, I was put with Bob Woodcock and Dick Stead re-ripping E3 Brow prior to the haulage road being put in. At the time that I was re-ripping, the monorail was the only means of transport, and Billy Keating was in charge of it.
