Fyffes "Banana Factory" in the old goods shed at the back there, how many generations of Wigan kids thought bananas were actually made there?

When I was a kid in wartime, that Fyffes sign which we could see from the iron bridge was the nearest we got to a banana

If you look at the back of the engine you can see the cattle stock pens, where stock was rested on long distant travel stock men would give them water and food .then re-loaded back in the wagons .

The "Fyffes" building in the background was occupied by
Robert Baillie Transport of Portsmouth,as their Wigan depot,
from about 1965 until approx. 1977.
