I remember going to Butlins in 1966 and spending nearly all of the 3 weeks driving that engine, There was another small engine as well a small tank engine I think caller Stepney.
Not many people are aware that it was due to Billy Butlin forsight the buy a number of these steam locos as entertainment display and display then at his camp sites that he would aid the preservation movement which at the time was in its infancy that all his locos survived into preservation.
Good picture. . . Great Loco.
the loco is now 46203 has been restored once and has been on journeys through Wigan it is the one stopped at Wigan, a footplate member was hurt passing through Golbourne and taken to Hospital sometime later after its boiler ticket expired it was back to its now home a place called Butterly in Derbyshire now awaiting another restoration
