This is Pwllheli camp when Butlin bought up some of the locos that were being scrapped. This one is "Princess Margaret Rose" I dont know what happened to the locos after they had been in the camps. Our 2 boys enjoyed climbing up the steps and into the cab, imagining that they were driving it!

I remember going to Butlins in 1966 and spending nearly all of the 3 weeks driving that engine, There was another small engine as well a small tank engine I think caller Stepney.
Not many people are aware that it was due to Billy Butlin forsight the buy a number of these steam locos as entertainment display and display then at his camp sites that he would aid the preservation movement which at the time was in its infancy that all his locos survived into preservation.
