The caption says it all. I *think* the area is where Danes Avenue is today, although I will accept being corrected on that score.

Hi Dennis, you are right. Peter used to slide down the hill at the back of the bandstand on pieces of cardboard. He's not much different now!

Aye,Irene,t'big hill we used to call it.Waxed cardboard in summer,sledges in winter.I was born and brought up in Danes Avenue,up at top, No.118,the former Hole House Inn.Rayner Park and Borsdane Wood were my playgrounds.A lad couldn't have wished for owt better.
spent many a hour playing in raynor park and borsdane wood .

if you look i dont even think the raos was fully cobtructed here and all the old railway st. houses up top are there.
