He looks like my Grandfather Wilf Hampson, he worked at Bickershaw and lived in Ashton in Makerfield
I think this man is Percy Roberts Who was a chargeman on the coal face
Sorry I checked with John Burke it was Robinson not Roberts
To Alan Seddon,Your last comment is correct. This miner is my uncle,Percy Robinson. He had 3 brothers,my dad Peter,Norman & Raymond. Also a sister Elsie. All born & bred in Bickershaw.Percy's wife, Margaret, survives him & lives in Abram.During the war Percy was in the Royal Navy, serving on HMS Renown. After which he went into the pit, until passing away quite young. His children were Anthony,Dennis & I think sister Kathleen.Anyone wanting any further info re the family, contact me x my em attached to this posting.
To Nobby, the picture supplier, how did you get this photo of my uncle Percy, its a brilliant photo. All my family, from both sides are from mining stock.I would like to make contact with you. Please contact thro' my attached em posting on here, or by phone 07977 637425, thanks Brian R.
Very interested in Brian Robinson's comments. Does anyone have any current news of Margaret Robinson of Abram. Her sister-in-law has not heard from her for some time and I promised to help her try to find out.
