An after closing time photo of some of the bar staff at the Wellfield Hotel, Beech Hill, around the early 1960's. Left to right, Phyllis Bowen (Landlady), Nora Mitchison, Mrs Mason, Albert Hirst, Harold Mason, Molly and Cliff Makin and Jack Bowen (Landlord from 1956 until 1974). The bar stretched the length of the pub, it certainly kept you fit, since even if there were only two customers, each at either end of the pub, it meant an awful lot of walking.
