I think this is a 2nd year photo, I was in the 1st year with a lot of these lads and then I passed the 12+ and went to Thomas Linacre.
Back row 1st left Graham Edwards, 4th Ian Pinkerton and on the end at the right David Johnson who for a long time had the Chemists shop on Park Road.
3rd row 3rd from left I think is Keith Pendlebury and on the other side of 'Jock' Shaw I think is Owen Ingram.
2nd row 4th from left I think is Ravinda Kumar Sonni on the right hand end of that row is William Daniels and next him is Walter? Culshaw who probably is June's brother.
Front row on the end at the right is Stephen Saywell.
if you look at the photo next to this one, you will see the back of this photo with some signatures. my brother Walter Culshaw is on the second row from the bottom and is the second one in from the right.sadly he passed away aged 51.as you will all remember, he was such a lovely boy and continued in his adult life to be one of the very best. he was loved so much and is missed every day.
Regarding my previous comment, I must be forgetting how old I am getting. I think June (who submitted the photo is more likely to be the daughter or granddaughter of Walter? Culshaw on the photo.
A little before my time (1960 to 63 - passed 13+ and transferred to Wigan Grammar School) at All Saints I recognize a few lads faces and of course Jock Shaw but who is the other teacher? My contemparies were Martin Heyes, Malcolm Lloyd, Arthur Wright, Henry Meadows, Clifford Darbyshire, Alan Davies, David Gladwin, Barry Lawless, Phil Eastham, Neil Garner, David Abrahams, Alan Ince, David Prince and Jimmy Brady to name a few.
oh how i wish Carl ! walter culshaw was my brother. he was four years younger than me
John there is only one teacher on this photo, Jock Shaw, the lad on the left hand end of the 3rd row ( if you meant him) who looks older and is wearing a tie is Jeffrey Ostick who was the same age as the rest of the lads. Sadly I think Jeffrey died quite a few years ago at a relatively young age.
Carl, thanks for the correction. I'me amazed he's one of the pupils but I suppose in the late 50s and ealry 60s there was many different styles of hair and dress. even on reflection I would still think he was a teacher (even though a young one) he looks so much older than the rest. Still, I'm sorry if he is no longer with us.
All in all a pretty rubbish school, take it from one who knows.

A good School with great class mates, some of whom I still see on occasions.
Best wishes to both Carl Fairclough and Richard Hill. I was good friends with both of you during our childhood years. Pity we have lost touch over the decades that have passed.
The young man on the front row - second from right - is my brother Ken. Not so young any more. Those were the days !
Sadly my brother Ken passed away on 4th July (2023). R.I.P. Bro. xxx
My Brother Ken's Daughters will be arranging a get together for family and friends in memory of him. It will be held at the Honeysuckle Inn, Pool St., Poolstock in September. Details given nearer to the day if anyone wants to come along.
Ken's remembrance get together will be on 24th.Sept. between 1 and 4 p.m. Happy and funny memories required.
