History of Wigan   (Help with ancient and recent history.)

Hi Mac, Herbert Street is off Miry Lane, we lived in Fletcher Street (now gone) which was off Herbert Street. Your Great Grandad's house was the last one on the left hand side (coming from Miry Lane), then there was a cross roads and to the left was Haig Street, to the right was Pennyhurst Street and straight on it became Tickle Street (I think, could be wrong).
