History of Wigan   (Help with ancient and recent history.)

Started by: tonker (27928)

The Bluecoat School was 'first' built in the late 1700's. The Whitesmith's Arms, 86 Standishgate, was built in the early 1600's, almost 200 years earlier.

As for comments and suggestions for future improvements to the website, I'd suggest they stick to 'Wigan' buildings ie: buildings IN Wigan.
If they insist on buildings in Wigan council area, call it Wigan Borough Buildings, not Wigan and Leigh Buildings and then include buildings which are neither in Wigan OR Leigh!

It's the difference between a good, factual site and yet another site full of copied bullshit !
