History of Wigan   (Help with ancient and recent history.)

Just as an update, jo anne, I've received a photocopy from the archives that proves the often-told family story of four of my great-uncles who all went to War in 1914, and all returned.
A feature called 'A Fighting Poolstock Family', complete with photos of them in uniform, was published in the Wigan Observer in 1915!!
