Handbags   (The sad, the bad and the ugly. Non-productive stuff here.)

Mac, I'm a volunteer and one time trustee of the local RSPCA Branch, they just like the Dog's Trust have the policy that they will not put a healthy dog or any animal down, sadly in some cases where the animal has been so neglected that no matter how much treatment you could give them; the prognosis will be the same, so in that event it is deemed that rather than let the animal suffer pain and distress it is kinder to put it to sleep, this decision and the euthanasia is carried out by a vet, RSPCA inspectors are no longer allowed by law to euthanise an animal.

Wigan is sadly twenty years behind Manchester and Salford districts when it comes to seeking veterinary care for animals, some of the animals brought to the PAWS clinic are suffering from conditions that the Greater Manchester Animal Hospital were seeing twenty years ago when it first opened, so the work of the RSPCA Wigan, Leigh and District Branch is vital in educating folks on how to care for their animals, and that they can have access to affordable veterinary care and attention, don't knock us Mac, stand with us to be a voice for the animals of Wigan and districts.
