I've NEVER said Beech Hill is not Wigan, because I know it is.
I've explained before, the ONLY thing that keeps Pemberton, Ince, Hindley, etc. in Wigan is the council. Norley is not a real place anyway and, if it was, it would be just as much 'in Wigan' as Shakerley is and that's 'not at all'.

Parts of Wigan are, Town Centre, Scholes, Poolstock, Beech Hill, Springfield, Swinley, Whelley. Anywhere else can do one, because they aren't. And them places aren't real places either, but at least they're in Wigan.
Next to Wigan, but not in it, are Ince, Pemberton, Standish, Haigh and Aspull.
The administration can change at anytime and has done throughout history.

As far as where I live, well, I live in Ashton in Makerfield, which is as much 'in Wigan' as where you live is, ie: not at all. Although it's in Wigan council area, it's still Ashton in Makerfield. It's not Manchester, or Wigan, it's Wigan Metropolitan Borough (council) and Greater Manchester (county) and Liverpool (diocese). In England!

So shove that where the sun don't shine!
