What a chucklesome day that was. The thrashing of the has beens, and all but consigning them to playing second/third rate European football next season.

That would make no difference, they already spend more than any other club and have the resources to continue to do so. It isn't about the money you spend, it's how you spend the money, and yesterday's humiliation (which was shown around the world), highlighted the inadequacies of their player purchasing "strategy".
