Grimshaw,apologies,my predictive text threw out Slinger.I meant stringer a free lance journo .
I probably met a few when I used to frequent Withy Grove where a relation had a pub many years ago which was full of pressmen.
Many years ago so if I met a stringer I wouldn’t know it and probably wouldn’t be bothered any way.
They all seemed to be over the plimsoll line with ale than knowledge to be honest.
