The 'Top House' was opposite St.Oswald's.
Not long ago, it's cellar gave way because it hadn't been filled in properly. It was all 'hey lads, hey', and 'old mine workings' etc.. until they discovered what it really was.

The Colliers (Dull pick, but I don't know why) was the first pub I went in too. It was 1974 and 'Stan and Hilda' had it.
Stan used to say, "Eteyteenyorlads". "Yes, Stan", we'd say. "Reet, 'ere y'are, gooin't back place then", said Stan.
