Thirty years ago I lived 30 miles away. So could only hear it when the wind was in the right direction.

But it's good to know we have also been providing facilities for the Preston, Bolton and Shaw nutters over the years, as well as the Aintree ones.

Golf course built at Aintree? That's ironic, eh? Because, in case you didn't know (but I bet you did), part of the Three Sisters site used to be a golf course.

Personally, I would have left the dirt rooks -- which we proper locals never ever called the Three Sisters -- and used them for ski-ing and tipping councillors off.
