Thanks Peter, your comments appreciated. I expect sometime in the next few days I'll be using the V1, I've also noticed that it stops near the Fred Aldous craftshop where I go sometimes, it would save a walk from Piccadily Gardens.

There's been a suggestion that the V2 bus from Atherton could extend to Hindley, but I'll believe it when I see it. I haven't used the train for years, wonder what parking is like at Hindley station? Might be better at Daisy Hill station. Maybe wrong destination was just "teething trouble" and now sorted.
