A very ill judged comment from utt,but probably not meant to be offensive.
I remember Walter Tickle was great friends with my Uncle Walter, they were known as the two Walters and they played billiards together at St Johns mens club on Standishgate.
He also played cards there with my grandad and Charlie Brogan most nights.
When St Johns cricket club was formed,Ronnie played the piano at all the functions and money raisers,a lovely chap who was a teacher at St Marys and may have ended up at Sacred Heart school.
I was unaware of Walters war achievements, but very interesting and thanks Elizabeth for the information.
