I remember Jack Hewitt at St Cuthberts (Pemberton) in the '80s when I boxed there - he was getting on a bit. Future pro Lee Blundell was a regular at the time with his dad and brother. Also, the formidable Alf Barnes would regularly pound the heavy bag - a real powerhouse.
