Hi gaffer,
thanks for replying, the name came from another former colleague of my late sister. When they quoted the name I must say it did "ring a bell" with me. I can't say for sure that Chris Sutton ( Suffolk ) was actually born in the Wigan area, but was assured she had resided there for many, many years.
The birth year you quoted fits the bill, as my sister was born 1950.
There would be nothing lost in fact If I was to contact the lady you mentioned, at worst she could confirm not her !!
