I think my mom remembers Mary Gizzi. It's strange because my mom will say that the orphanage was ok even though I'm sure she had a pretty horrible time. She lives in the USA now and was married to an American (my father) for about 25 years then he died (about 10 years ago). She went back and forth a few years after his death (grieving, I think) and is now located in the States. She will not give up her UK citizenship because she loves England. She has always been a hard worker and I feel she raised myself and brother well. She always told me to get an education and to look after myself first (which I did and I thank her for that). She doesn't talk much about her childhood and when she does she tries to make it sound like it was ok. when her mother was 6 months pregnant with her, her father died so, her mother had to work so she put her in the convent (Greenfield). She visited her every Sunday and she was a friend of Sister Quinas so this is why she was nice to my mother. To this day, I, her daughter, see a young child in her that has suffered. She is still a strong Catholic. If only her father didn't die - I wonder what her life would have been like...
