Hi Brian, not sure where I remember Jackie Jones from, he might have been the afternoon shift driver on C9, or I've got my manriders mixed up and he was driving the S7 or the Plodder return manrider. Jemmy Wood (?) used to drive the S1 rider I think.
Looked at the photos, remember you and big dickie and the L3 photo with Jack Turner in it. Didn't Bill Scholes used to be the deputy for L3 shunt ? I remember him catching me riding under the safety gate on the L3 belt, and I had to go and see Gerald Eaves (not a good day).
Like I said before, I left just before the strike and went working for Gullicks, then emigrated to Australia in 1993 with Gullicks, now working for a company that makes electrical equipment for underground coal mines. Haven't been back to the UK since 2014, but I made sure to visit the memorial where the pit gates used to be.
