Remember Jim Ogden,the deputy manager at Golborne.He was a born again Christian.His approach to man management and industrial relations didn't go down too well with men either!When a gang of men came into his office,straight from the pit,still in their black,ready for a fight about something or other,his way of dealing with them was to sit back in his chair,arms folded,and listen carefully and quietly to their ranting.A few nods of the head in all the right places and a final,"I'll see what I can do about it", was enough to send them out utterly confused,deflated and muttering to each other!
