Trixie--Just mention Downall Green he will keep popping up Shaws had it as a shoe shop before Deacin's took over and she did start selling wool as well as shoes, Shaws also owned the house next door to the shop which he had his shed for repairing shoes/clogs, when Annie Deacin took over the shop Shaws moved next door he still did his repairs,

Yes there was a chippy in the back yard of the shop but don't know how ran it may not have been Shaws or Deacins that had it Bentlegs should now he's owder than me
saying that he didn't remember the fair coming to Downall Green did he
