If I'm truthful, I'm not 100% certain that Bamfurlong being translated as "bean field" is correct. That translation comes from old english, and around that area, its more likely to derive from scandinavian. The north of England, (when I was a youngster!) was in the area known as Danelaw, the south in Mercia. Danelaw was the viking influenced part, Mercia the english.

In caes you didnt know, there is another Bamfurlong in Glouctershire. Its probably only a shoddy copy though!
