Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Started by: JACK THE LAD (23)

I've done a count (with help from google maps) and I estimate that there were 222 council houses built just after the war. Good solid houses with all mod cons. Fitted kitchens including a fridge. Indoor toilet and bathroom. Wash house and coal place. Gardens front and back. We didn't realise how well off we were.
Its now over seventy years since they were built, I reckon theyll be good for another seventy.
By the way I never realised I was a scouser, chuffed to little mint balls I am. Jondav.
