I was more qualified than Harold Hunter and working knee-deep in slutch was beneath me. I refused to work in certain places, so he sent Mick Rowlands instead. I also refused to work shifts and got away with it. They didn't like that!!
Anyway, it was too cold up t'razzer road. My den was over the offices in the lecky shop or sat in "compost corner" with spud and madmon!

And giving somebody a good "Welting" used to mean giving them a bloody good hiding!
