A Morgue at the Blue Bell, Before Undertakers
got established local pubs were used to lay out the corpse, Every village had a pub with a large room upstairs used for weddings and parties but they were also used for the post mortem, the practice died out in the early 19th century, My Grandmother was one of what were called as layers out they would wash & fit the body with a shroud ready for the Doctor to examine them.
