Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Dougie/Bert, I know it would be difficult to find out who the first families to move into the houses on the estate would be. It would be interesting to know more about DG. Not only as regards the estate, but Rectory Road, who owned the land, anything really. We did a history of the village I am living in now, and loads of interesting facts that nobody knew about came to light. No doubt it would be the same with DG.

Was there ever a ground breaking ceremony for the estate?

By the way, Ilooked at the photos in the link at the beginning. I'm not 100% certain, but I think the one of Norman Prior is dated incorrectly. It was probably 1956 not 1958.
