Simm's Lane End. Downall Green Road used to be called Eddleston's Lane, and Tomplum's ancestors used to own it. If you wanted to go to Ashton town centre, down 'their' lane, you had to pay 'em. That's why Tomplum's well-off and can afford to retire early!
