Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

A question for you all. In the general section on here, a map from 1892 was posted. I'm not good at links, but its on the Bryn/Ashton thread started by priscus.

Looking on it, Millingford Brook is marked as Down Brook, what I always thought of as being a mill on Dam Corner is marked as a Smithy, and what I think most of us know as Bluebell Woods is marked as The Clough. Can anyone shed any light on this?
