TTS / BEAR here thank you for that piece, I can truly understand why and what you were going through ,for myself i was in a similar situation ,left school got a butcher's job boning out /serving in a shop and a mobile shop, believe me or not my wage at 15 years was £2..twelve and six nett ,take home . I have lately tried to work out how much an hour i was on..
Mon; 7.30 am - 6.00pm
Tues ; 7.30 am - 6.30 pm
Wed ; 7.30 am -2.00 pm
Thur ; 7.30 am -6.00pm
Fri ; 7.30 am - 7.00 pm
Sat ; 7.30 - 5.30 pm EACH DAY MINUS 1 HOUR FOR DINNER .
55 HOUR WEEK AND BROWT WOM 2 POUND TWELVE SHILLINGS AND SIXPENCE . But TOMMY i do get your reasons for saying that my mates got better paid jobs and it was bloody hard watching them going up Wiggin boozing and i was nearly skint , my mother bless gave me money from my first wage ,which was 10 bob note or 10 shillings. By the way that was in 1961 . I WUZ TOO BLEEDING KNACKERED TO GO OUT ANYWAY AFTER DOING ALL THOSE HOURS . I hope yoo enjoyed this TOMMY i know i can talk to yoo take care .......GB
