THE NOT SO HANDSOME MINER


They left him,
locked in the cage,
without company, food, or wage-
and there he lay asunder...

And for fifty two years
he was out on his ears,
eleven thousand feet
under.

And to this day,
the locals still say,
maybe fate could have
been kinder.

So, when the wind does howl,
and the weather is foul,
take heed
and keep Satan behind yer...

For the legend is clear
for all (unfortunately) to endear,
of the not so handsome
miner...
