Now one or two of you may be surprised at my next revelation.
2pm last Tuesday 24th September. Me and her indoors returning from the in-laws at Hindley en-route to Lidl Pemberton.
Went through Bryn towards Marus Bridge. On nearing Asda.. Sainsbury's etc... Saw an enforcement GMP transit (staffed these days by civilian personnel) Parked entirely on the grass verge.. Looking to catch drivers exiting j25 onto Warrington Road.. The speed limit dropping from 40 to 30.
Now in a previous life you couldn't break the law to enforce the law. This vehicle KR68 PSU.. had mounted the kerb and driven (On land other than a road) (Offence in itself) to position the vehicle to catch one or two misdemeanours. (, A. K. A. Easy pickings)
I forwarded my "Enquiry" to the GMP Website on Tuesday asking for clarification if this act was lawful or not.. Their website claims to respond within two days. I have submitted my full details.. E-mail and telephone contact number.
Its now nearly 5 days... Not a response from GMP!! I Wonder if I am right that a lot of motorists have been wrongly prosecuted by conducting the checks in this manner.
In my locality speeding vehicles is a daily danger.. No matter the locality raise their voice nowt happens.. Enforce where it is needed and reduce accidents. Keep you posted... 2nd request to GMP soon.
