That is not how it is going to work, because we get our gas from a variety of sources, and if one source stopped, another one would take its place, and then there is the subject of Fracking, if the UK starts to Frack on a commercial scale, then we will be self-sufficient in our gas supplies.

UK Gas Resources

Electric wise we don't need the EU at all, because we import very little electricity from them, and if the supply was cut, then that would affect the Irish supply, because we and the EU export electricity to the Irish Republic, through the UK electricity transmission system.
