The puss-cat is a curious creature and it might give it a whack with a paw first to see what happens then, if the snake reacts, the cat will probably jump back and walk away.

In years gone by I've had all sorts of "presents" brought to me by my cats; sadly birds (dead and alive). I once had a pigeon flying around my living room, but I managed to catch it and put him on a tree for him to catch his breath, after which he flew off unhurt; but notably, one of my cats had a penchant for worms. Big, thick, brown, slimy, six inch worms. Yuk! I thanked my cat for her kind contribution, and wrapped it in some kitchen roll and clod it back out whilst she watched me wondering why her pressie had been rejected.
