Aitch,it's on the A49 between Balshaw and Euxton Lanes,just before you get to The Bay Horse. Down Balshaw Lane there's another pub that I know the Talbot Arms,and on probably the first time I ever went there was Christmas eve,1961,after my mate and I arrived on our way to the dance at Highways Hostel.Unfortunately we had both drunk to excess,after all it was the festive season and it was too much for my mate so he never went to the dance and went home via the muddy fields instead.Against the odds I did make it the event but was in no condition to dance and when it was time to go home I asked a friend of my brother for a lift.Nine of us climbed into an old Austin 7 and I was dropped off about half a mile from home and it wasn't 'til the following morning that I discovered I'd lost my raincoat.To cut a long story short I was over in UK for a holiday in '96 and we stayed with my sister in Euxton for a couple of nights so of course went in the Talbot and I told them about Dec.'61 and I asked if anybody had handed my mac' in,needless to say I got some strange looks.
