It was the same here,people were flying the Australian World cup flag,the "Green & Gold",they were coming out the woodwork even those who had no previous interest in the game or described it as "wogball".It was confusing when the Aussies played Croatia,there was mixed emotions,the choice being to cheer for the home country or that of their adopted home.No matter which country was playing in the last eight,the TV showed masses of their supporters,the exception being England,the only time you see the English flag on display is when England are playing Australia at cricket or Rugby Union and that's usually by the "Barmy Army",must be that English reserve or self depreciation.
