Wendy,give me the location,if its the same Anderton Arms as I knew,my eldest sister may know the answer,she into her eighties and claims there's very little she doesn't know about.Her first husband worked for the Lancashire Evening Post in Wigan in the '50s and '60s,he's no longer with us so we can't ask him but sis once lived in Scholes and at one time ran a pub,don't where because I'd emigrated by then.
