Getwom, a bit more info here for you on account of you losing mobiles in the past, & to anyone else it may be usefull for. When you get a new sim card (or phone with unregistered sim), be sure to register it by ringing or on line, they require name address password etc, if you then @ any point lose your phone you can put a stop on it, not to worry if you find it again or it finds you as you can ring the provider, give your details & they will unblock it, but if you never get your phone back, when you buy a new phone & sim you can ring the provider and keep your old number, so no need to ring round telling everybody a new number, every sim card has whats called a dedicated PAC number so you can carry on an old number, this can also be used if you want to switch networks, ie: leave Orange & go to O2 etc, & retain your old number on the new network.
