There is the history behind the term Woolly-Backs as mentioned by copperhead but generally it is a term that Liverpudlians use for non- Liverpudlians.Especially those with a similar accent to them and whom claim to be scousers. In particular those from St Helens, Skelmersdale, Widnes.
