I am amazed at how the police allocate resources.

In my neck of the woods, they were triaging the 999 calls.

If you were being burgled, or your car was being stolen, it would be downgraded to non emergency, and you would probably get a visit a few days hence, to give you a crime reference number.

On the other hand, a trivial incident in the city centre was swamped with police. Someone had started a small fire in a bank. It must have been minor: the interior of the bank showed no sign of fire the following day.

By 2-00 pm, local news announced that terrorism was dismissed: the guy had a grudge against the bank.

When I walked past, around 6-40pm, there were still more than a dozen police cars parked up. Down the many alleyways around were groups of policemen: doing what policemen are said not to do when on duty!

I do not disrespect the police, but we do need good quality policing. I am not convinced that is what we are getting.
