The Tories have voted against no such thing, so get your facts right.
If they did cut the VAT on electric and gas, then everyone would benefit, including rich people, so they are looking to target the people who are struggling to pay, with a benefit increase of some sort.

Although they could if they wished cut the VAT, that option is only possible, because we have left the EU
