It just shows what a mess the West has made of the world in the last 30yrs

1. Armed a nutcase to the teeth, (Saddam) so he could defeat Iran in the Iran-Iraq war, but he made peace with the Iranians, leaving him with the best equipped army in the Middle East, to which he invaded Kuwait, and the rest is history, events cascaded, and destabilised the Middle East, culminating with the Arab Springs, which did not work, and led to mass migration away from the Middle East towards Europe.

2. During the same time frame, the stupid EU brought in The Schengen Area, which is an area comprising 26 European countries that have officially abolished all passport and all other types of border control at their mutual borders. The area mostly functions as a single jurisdiction for international travel purposes, with a common visa policy.

That means that once migrants reached the EU nothing can stop going anywhere in the EU, and we know where they head too.
African migrants have also been encouraged to find pastures new in the EU by this lax borders measure.

It is stupid, and Golden Bear is having kittens about it
